Hamilton Quit Smoking Clinic

- Offers free, confidential and non judgmental service

-Appointments are 30 minutes in length with a nurse who works with you to help you achieve your goal to reduce or quit smoking

- Counselling includes assessment, lifestyle change counseling, withdrawal management, and referrals

- Priority is given to pregnant women & young families

Prenatal Smoking Cessation Intervention Program (PSCIP)

- This program motivates women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a child up to one year of age and their family members to quit smoking
- A Registered Nurse trained in smoking cessation provides counselling to individuals who smoke, provides no-cost nicotine replacement therapy, grocery cards as incentives, and bus tickets.

- The MotHERS Program website provides information on the risks of smoking during pregnancy. As well, it provides links to provincial and national programs for smoking cessation.

- This program and website, run through Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, is an excellent resource for information on what is safe when you are pregnant and breastfeeding.

- This booklet will explain what smoking and second-hand smoke does to you, your baby, and your health. It also gives you information on quitting smoking and some resources you will need to help you along the way

- The mission of the network for the Prevention of Gestational and Neonatal Exposure to Tobacco Smoke (PREGNETS) is to improve the health of moms and their babies by offering information, resources and support to pregnant and postpartum women and their health care providers
